Gaming is a part of my life, as it is for many people, but so is cosplay. I’m sure you’ve heard of cosplay, but let’s just make sure. Cosplay is a hobby where individuals dress up as characters from movies, television shows, anime, video games, and more.
Cosplay began in the early to mid-20th century with people dressing up as characters from their favorite books at science fiction conventions. Over time, it evolved into its current form: individuals dressing up like anime or video game characters at comic book conventions or gaming expositions like Blizzcon and Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).
These days it’s not uncommon for an actor in a movie or TV show to wear costumes similar to those worn by cosplayers—and vice versa. The only thing that matters is that you’re having fun! Here are some of the top cosplayers and their gaming system(s) of choice.

Stella Chuu
Stella Chuu is a cosplayer and video game streamer, preferring to play Nintendo consoles over any other gaming system. She’s known for her cosplays of Queen Serenity from Sailor Moon and Meiko from Vocaloid, and she has a massive following on Twitch (1 million followers) and YouTube (over 1 million subscribers).

Nicole Marie Jean
Nicole Marie Jean is a cosplayer and gamer, with one of her best cosplays being Sorceress from Dragon’s Crown. She’s also a big fan of the Final Fantasy series and The Witcher Series—and it shows!
Out of all gaming systems, PlayStation 4 is the console that she loves most.

Jessica Nigri
Jessica Nigri is a professional cosplayer, gamer, and model. She’s known for her cosplay of Pikachu and she’s been featured in many video games and magazines. Not only does this lady have a social media following of over 4 million followers (and it’s likely to grow), but her gaming system of choice is Nintendo 64!
It shouldn’t come as a shock then that her favorite video games include The Legend of Zelda & Goldeneye 007.

Yaya Han
Yaya Han is a model, designer, seamstress, and gamer who has created over 200 costumes for herself and others. She’s become a regular guest at conventions and gained fame for her Daenerys Targaryen cosplay from Game of Thrones.
Her favorite games include Overwatch and Mortal Kombat X; her favorite gaming system is PS4.

Alodia Gosiengfiao
Alodia Gosiengfiao is a cosplayer and gamer with a wide range of gaming console obsessions including Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii. While it’s easy to assume that Alodia would lean towards the PS3 or Xbox 360 as their favorite platform, she actually prefers the Wii!
With so many great games available on these consoles (and more), we’re not surprised that Alodia has chosen them as their gaming system of choice. One of her most famous cosplays is Light Yagami (Death Note). As is evidenced by their choice of gaming systems, their favorite games include the Final Fantasy Series and The Sims Series.

Kamui Cosplay
Kamui Cosplay is a two-person team based out of Germany, made up of Svetlana and Benni Quindt but primarily represented by Svetlana. They are cosplayers and gamers who started making costumes in 2008 and have a plethora of videos on their Youtube, Instagram, and Twitter channels.
Not surprising that their gaming system of choice is PC, as World of Warcraft is their favorite game. It’s also no wonder one of Svetlana’s most notable cosplays is Sylvanas Windrunner from WoW!
Lynley Heather Bell
Lynley Heather Bell is an Australian cosplayer and a HUGE gamer who has been cosplaying since 2008, after being inspired by other fellow cosplayers. She has appeared in magazines and is best known for her work on Celes Chere (Final Fantasy VI).
Based on her impressive cosplays, it’s safe to assume that Lynley would be a big fan of the Final Fantasy series. Both PS1 & 2 are her favorite systems at the moment because they offer so much diversity when it comes to playing games from all eras as well as current ones! However, she has done some amazing work with Metal Gear Solid and Street Fighter characters.
Thanks for Reading!
In conclusion, we’ve seen a lot of different gaming systems and their use in the cosplay world. Some people prefer classic consoles like the PS4, while others prefer newer models like the Wii U. There are also those who only play on PC or even mobile devices!
No matter what kind of system you have at home, it doesn’t matter as long as you can enjoy yourself playing it with friends… and maybe even dress up as your favorite characters if you want to, fellow geeks.
